The Need is Real

Poverty and food insecurity affect millions of Americans. More than 10% of Americans live in poverty, including 17.4% of Californians under the California Poverty Measure and 14.8% of Long Beach residents under the federal poverty measure.

Food insecurity affects more than hunger. It can impact children's health, development, and success in school. Many families struggle with limited food choices, poor nutrition, and the worry of not having enough to eat.
